Founded in 2023, Sea Point Capital Partners, LP is an investment manager based in Nassau, The Bahamas, focused on providing investment management services to entities that invest in Life Settlements and other Insurance-linked Securities, with an aim to deliver uncorrelated investment returns.
Our Team
Michael T. Crane - Chief Investment Officer
Michael T. Crane has over 30 years capital markets experience in specialty finance, securitization, derivatives and insurance. He has been a pioneer in the life settlements market since he made the first institutional equity capital allocation to life settlements while with Gen Re Financial Products, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway. Michael founded Deutsche Bank AG’s life settlements principal trading business, where he and his team traded over $2B (investment amount) of longevity-linked transactions globally. He was also the CEO of Coventry Capital Limited, where he led the distribution of longevity investment products globally. Most recently, Michael founded Lane Gate Advisors, LP, where he managed a open-end life settlement funds with over $50M AUM.
Avery Michaelson - Portfolio Manager
Avery T. Michaelson has extensive experience in the life settlements and insurance-linked securities markets. He oversaw many aspects of the policy origination and pricing process, coordinating activities with policy providers, medical underwriters, policy servicers, and other service providers while at Deutsche Bank (working on the same team as Michael). He also held positions at Peachtree Financial and Coventry First, where he was involved in capital raising for life settlement investments. Subsequently he was the Head of Longevity at Société Générale. and Founder Partner of Longitude Solutions, a consultancy with expertise in longevity and mortality risk.
